Ryeqo Endometriosis – A New Option for Managing Pain and Symptoms
For many women, endometriosis brings years of pain, fatigue and frustration. Treatments have traditionally involved surgery, hormonal therapies or pain relief, but a newer medication known as Ryeqo offers another option for symptom management without daily injections or invasive procedures.
How it works: Ryeqo for Endometriosis
Ryeqo for endometriosis is an oral medication that combines three ingredients – relugolix, oestradiol and norethisterone acetate. Together, they help suppress oestrogen production, which reduces the tissue growth and inflammation that drive endometriosis pain. Unlike some older hormonal treatments, Ryeqo is taken once daily and helps maintain stable hormone levels to minimise side effects.
Clinical studies show Ryeqo can significantly reduce pelvic pain, discomfort during periods and pain during intercourse. Many women also report improved quality of life and energy levels after several months of consistent use.
Who Can Take Ryeqo?
Ryeqo is generally suitable for women diagnosed with moderate to severe endometriosis who want a medical alternative to surgery or long-term injections. However, it may not be suitable for women who smoke and are over 35, or those with certain cardiovascular risks, migraines with aura or hormone-sensitive conditions.
Before starting Ryeqo, a gynaecologist will assess your medical history and may arrange a pelvic ultrasound or blood tests to confirm diagnosis and suitability.
