Dr Ed Gomez
You’ll have the reassurance of knowing you’re in safe hands, in a stress-free environment where the patient always comes first.
Dr Ed Gomez is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon who lives and works in Western Sydney. In addition to his Blacktown practice, Dr Gomez operates in private and public hospitals across the Western Sydney area.
Upon graduating from the University of Queensland School of Medicine, Dr Gomez worked and trained in regional and metropolitan Queensland and New South Wales. He undertook his obstetrics/gynaecology Diploma in 2012, then progressed to specialist training, completing his Fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Blacktown Hospital as Senior Registrar, while concurrently completing advanced training in Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery.
Dr Gomez is committed to ensuring patient-centred care sits at the heart of all his services. He is dedicated to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable to ask questions, express concerns and communicate your needs, so he can work with you to build a treatment plan tailored to you and help ensure you are in a position to make informed decisions about your medical options.
A member of AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society) and SWAPS (Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery), Dr Gomez is passionate about training and mentoring of junior doctors, including GPs, and is currently the training supervisor for RANZCOG Certificate of Women’s Health and DRANZCOG candidates at Blacktown Hospital. He is also a lecturer at Western Sydney University. Dr Gomez enjoys these roles, which assist him in staying up to date with current and emerging medical theory and practice, as well as enabling him to give back to the medical community, in gratitude and fond memory of the many mentors who supported him during his training.
When Dr Gomez isn’t working, training, mentoring or teaching you can find him enjoying family time, exploring nature, running in his local park, or kicking back at some of Western Sydney’s fantastic cafes and restaurants.
