Persistent pelvic pain (pain in the pelvic area which has been present on most days for more than six months) affects some 15 to 25 per cent of women but can be difficult for some medical practitioners to assess due to the variety of possible contributing factors.

Keeping a journal of your pain and symptoms can assist us in diagnosis and planning treatment. Pelvic exams, ultrasounds, other imaging tests and laparoscopy can all help to determine the underlying causes. Dr Gomez will then work with you to develop a treatment plan designed to reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life. This may include medication, physical therapy or laparoscopic surgery if needed.
